Project Rough'N is an incorporated mentoring program that is in partnership with Carolina Missionary Baptist Church in Fort Washington, Maryland. We realized the lack of mentor-ship provided to young minority males in the DMV area and the increased numbers of homeless families. Instead of complaining about these issues, a group of young men from all walks of life came together to be the individuals who rectify them. Our philosophy is to effectively mentor and provide uplift to adolescent and teenage males using the importance of manhood, scholarship, and service as our guide. We do this in hopes that there may be an increase in the success rate and a decrease in the possibility of being uneducated and at-risk. Our goals are to make an impact; mentoring young men, building community connections by being of service; and bring awareness to political, economic and social issues.
