ImmyBot, short for the Immense Robot, began as moniker for customer facing automation at Immense Networks (MSP) Provider founded by long-time friends and business partners, Bret Esquivel and Darren Kattan. Bret and Darren became fast friends as 7th graders in New Orleans when Bret started a computer club and Darren was the only kid to show up. They had never met anyone else as interested in computers. Over countless LAN parties they dreamed of bringing Louisiana out of the stone ages and registered immense.net in 1999, an homage to their ambitions. Hurricane Katrina hit when they were studying computer science and computer engineering at LSU (Geaux Tigers!). This presented an opportunity and they began rebuilding IT for affected schools. Bret & Darren graduated college in 2008. They went all in on their childhood dream, Immense Networks, and were immediately disillusioned with the tools available to MSPs. After attending Automation Nation 2016, they realized they weren't suffering alone. "Everyone is writing the same scripts to solve the same problems, and most of it is for installing software", Darren says. "The platform vendors give you a box of half-chewed Legos, and we were among the few that were able to do something meaningful with them. After competing in the scripting challenge, everyone wanted a copy of our scripts" Developing scripts in the existing platforms was challenging, primarily due to the lack of performance. After building up core team members at Immense Networks, Bret & Darren used their programming prowess to build ImmyBot. After years of late night programming, ImmyBot was released in August 2020. The platform is currently used by over 330 MSPs. It has seen substantial growth month over month.
